Grave of Lt Presley O’Bannon, Recipient of Mameluke Sword!

We visited the grave of Lt Presley O’Bannon, who received the Mameluke Sword as a gift for leading U.S. Marines in the defeat of the Barbary Pirates, in Tripoli. This sword is used by Marine Officers to this day. He is also the first American to raise the U.S. flag over foreign soil, in wartime. He is buried in Frankfort, Kentucky. Check out the video!
